GLITZ AND GLAM DIY

Hello dear friends.  First I wanted to show you (as promised) a simple DIY for glitzing up your sinple glass candle holders.  The one on the left is glitzed.

I took simple $store glitter tape $2.00 per roll, and in this case I cut my tape into l/3rds because it was pretty wide.  So 2 strips were enough for the larger candleholder.  Just take the tape and cut into the desired width.  Remove the protective backing and apply it to the candleholder.  You can measure it out, but I just eyeballed it.

'

for the smaller candleholder, I just used 1 strip, I think that's enough glitz for that one.

so there you have it!!! A very simple and inexpensive way to glitz up those plain ole candleholders.  You can do this for vases too.  You can use glitter tape, solid gold, black, copper, whatever kind you prefer.

I also made some small pictures from pages cut out of a magazine.  I was wanting some chinoiserie type prints and couldn't find any in the stores anywhere.  Soooooooooooooooooooooo nifty, thrifty me,....... found some lovely prints in magazines (advertisements actually) and clipped them down to just the part I wanted to frame.  See below.  I made 4 of them, 2 of the fabric pattern ones

these are magazine pages, not actual fabric (but I do love that fabric).

and 2 more with pastel colors.

and I just love the colors in this one and I thought they went together nicely.

Then I just put them in inexpensive (o.k. cheap) gold edged frames.  I put  2 on either side of my bed on nightstands. (Will show these later on).
The other 2  I put on my wall above my bed.  I have a 3 paneled room divider for my headboard, and I needed 2 small pictures to go above it, and these had a nice color to them.
Just wanted to give you a little sneak peek into my bedroom.  And see how easy it is to come up with artwork when you have none.  Just from magazine photos.

So, there ya have it, 2 DIY s to help glitz and glam up your homey world a little bit.  Just to show you can work with what you already have.
